Coaches

Haverhill Youth Soccer is a completely volunteer organization that relies heavily on its parents to lend their support in the form of coaching each season. Our staff strives to provide every volunteer with the necessary training, continued guidance and supportive environment to become a successful coach. Soccer experience is not necessary and chances are you'll have as much, if not more, fun than the players!

If you have any questions about coaching, please contact the Director of Soccer Development.

Please note that all volunteer positions with HYS are conditional upon completing a CORI check to obtain an Adult Credential from Mass Youth Soccer.

Coaches in this program lead one of our fundamental groups of Pre-School to Grade 2 players through weekly training sessions on Saturdays. Prior to each session, coaches meet for a brief clinic led by licensed coaches to gain a better understanding of the goal of that particular week's session plan. The time commitment for a coach in this program is between 60 and 75 minutes per week, or approximately 8 to 10 hours a season.

If you would like to volunteer as a Development coach, please send a brief email of interest to development@haverhillyouthsoccer.org.

The time commitment for a coach in this program is between 3 to 3 ½ hours per week, or approximately 24 to 28 hours a season.
