Concussions are a serious health concern in youth sports. HYS is committed to the safety of our players and to educate our players, parents, coaches, and administrators in the dangers of concussion-related injuries. All of our coaches are required to review concussion information and protocols on an annual basis.
We ask that you take a moment to review the following fact sheet for youth sports parents.
The weather doesn't always cooperate with us and we can sometimes experience wet or cold conditions on Saturdays. HYS's inclement weather policy is to play as scheduled. However, we will cancel all or part of the day's schedule due to lightning, torrential rain, snow, violent weather or unsafe field conditions. Development cancellations will be communicated to parents via email and posted on our social media accounts.
Even if there is no cancellation, we believe that parents should be the ultimate decision makers as to whether or not their child should be outside playing soccer. Due to seasonable weather constraints, cancelled training sessions may not be rescheduled. Please note that this applies only to Development; In-Town and Travel have their own cancellation policies.
Our Soccer Swap is a great way to clear your closets of old soccer equipment and help another family in the process. Bring your gently worn or hardly used cleats and shin guards to the fields with you anytime during the season. Please clean and tie cleats together by the strings and band shin guards together if possible. There will be bins outside the lockup for you to donate your items. If you need cleats or shin guards, please come by to see if something was donated your child can use.
