Jr. Academy

HYS Jr. Academy operates under the guidance of Mass Youth Soccer. Mass Youth Soccer is the official representative of US Soccer, the national governing body for soccer in the United States, and US Youth Soccer in Massachusetts. Our program has been designed and developed in collaboration with these professional soccer organizations to offer age appropriate activities in a supportive, child-centered, positive learning environment.

The main goal of our Jr. Academy is to instill a passion for the game of soccer in young children. This passion is vital to keeping players participating in the game throughout their life. It is our shared passion for the game that impels us to help young players experience the joys of the game in a healthy and positive youth soccer experience.

Our developmental program has evolved with the game over the years and continues to be dynamic and fluid as we seek to always keep pace with the growth of soccer in the United States. We are dedicated to providing a contemporary and age appropriate program inclusive of the most current child development, athletic and soccer specific knowledge available to us. We hope you will take a moment to review our Jr. Academy rationale to learn more about this program's objectives and methods.

Jr. Academy fields are located at J.G. Whittier Middle School, 256 Concord Street.

These smaller 4v4 fields are lined in blue within the larger 7v7 fields used by our In-Town program. Lawn signs are placed adjacent to each midfield line to help players find their field. We ask that spectators sit a few feet away from the touchlines to give the children enough room to play. Sitting behind goals is prohibited.
