Fall 2020 - Travel Info
UPDATE - August 20, 2020
Essex County Youth Soccer has announced that its Fall 2020 season has been cancelled. You can read more about this decision on the ECYSA website at http://manageyourleague.com/ECYSA. Players registered with our Travel program have the following two (2) options:
Play in our In-Town program and receive a $45.00 credit towards the Spring 2021 season
Opt-out of playing this fall and receive a $125.00 credit towards the Spring 2021 season
Families have until In-Town registration closes on August 23, 2020 to make their decision.
If your child wants to OPT-OUT of playing with HYS for the fall, please send a brief email to intown@haverhillyouthsocccer.org. If we do not receive a response from you, HYS will assume that your child plans to play in our In-Town program and you will receive a $45.00 credit towards the Spring 2021 season.
Some things to keep in mind if your child decides to play in the In-Town program this fall:
COVID guidelines will be strictly enforced, and we ask all participants and spectators to understand and adhere to them. More info to be sent out.
Only masks that go around the ears are allowed. No player will be allowed to play with a mask that goes around the head or neck.
In-Town teams may be co-ed and may be played with a smaller format 7v7 and/or 9v9 to allow for more teams to be formed.
The situation we are in is fluid and subject to change at any moment.
Most importantly, our kids will still have an opportunity to play soccer (even with its altered format) for the fall.
Hopefully, we will see many of you on the fields this fall.

In anticipation of having a Fall 2020 Travel season, HYS has opened registration for Travel as Essex County Youth Soccer requires roster info by August 13th.
Please read thoroughly before registering your player(s), and please reach out to the Travel Director with any questions.
The Fall 2020 Travel season will be held if the State of MA allows it.
For the Fall 2020 Travel season, there will only be G6 (Grades 5th and 6th) and G8 (Grades 7th and 8th).
G4 (Grades 3rd and 4th) will only be offered in the In-Town program for Fall 2020.
There will be no tryouts/evaluations for the Fall 2020 season.
Fall 2020 Travel Registration will open on Monday, July 27th and close on Sunday, August 16th at 11:59pm.
No early bird or late registration will be allowed for this Fall.
Registration will be based on first come, first serve, and each Age Group and Gender will have a cap.
If there are not enough registered players for a particular Age Group and Gender, those players may have the opportunity to play in the In-town program.
The Fall 2020 Travel fee will be $125.00.
No Refunds will be issued, Fees for the Fall 2020 season may be credited towards the following Spring 2021 season.
Towns may only be allowed to play abutting towns.
If at any point the travel season is canceled, all registered HYS Travel players will have the opportunity to play in the In-Town program.
The HYS Board has been working hard to find the best way to accommodate as many soccer players as possible. We are doing our best to work within the parameters we are given. Everything is subject to change based on the guidelines set up by the state, and passed down to our organization through MA Youth Soccer and Essex County Youth Soccer.
