Fall 2020 - In-Town Info
UPDATE - August 22, 2020
We understand there are probably a lot of questions on how we will handle soccer this season, what it will look like, and how will we keep the players safe. We are going to follow all MA guidelines and those also imposed by Mass Youth Soccer. Here is some general information:
We will basically be playing non-contact soccer and social distancing on the side-lines.
We will also be controlling the number of spectators, with only 1 allowed per player (this is a Mass Youth Soccer requirement) so we don't exceed the maximum number of people allowed at a field.
All coaches, refs, sideline players, and spectators will be required to wear a mask.
All players on the field will be required to wear a mask, unless they are heavily exerting themselves, such as a sprint.
Goalkeepers will not be required to wear a mask.
We will have a COVID Coordinator per team to help enforce the rules.
We will also have hand sanitizer and will sanitize all equipment.
The following document discusses the changes to the game in detail:
Modifications to Game to Comply with EEA Guidance
The season will be starting on September 19th. That will give us enough time to form the teams, prepare the teams, and get all the required equipment. Games will take place on Saturdays and the training schedule with field locations has been posted.
Please remember that all of this is fluid and can change at a moments notice, depending on changes from the state, city, or soccer governing bodies.

In anticipation of having a Fall 2020 In-Town season, HYS is opening up registration. The State of Massachusetts has reclassified soccer as a moderate risk sport, allowing us to have competition (scrimmages and games). Although we are a moderate risk sport, there are still several restrictions put upon us. Please be prepared this season will look different than the past seasons, but the good thing is we will be able to get out and have soccer related activities! We are also going to require significant support from our members/community. Please email us if you are willing to help out. The number of volunteers will be directly related to the number of teams we can form.
Please read thoroughly before registering your player(s), and please reach out to the In-Town Director with any questions.
The Fall 2020 In-Town season will be held if the State of MA and U.S. Soccer allows it.
At any time activities we are allowed to conduct may change, based on restrictions from the State of MA and U.S. Soccer. We need to be very flexible this season.
For the Fall 2020 In-Town season, there will G4 (Grades 3 and 4), G6 (Grades 5 and 6) and G8 (Grades 7 and 8).
All teams may be single gender or co-ed, depending on the number or registrations for each gender and the ability to form teams.
Grade groups may be combined if there are not enough registrations per grade group (i.e. G6 and G8 may be combined to form a middle school league).
Fall 2020 In-Town registration will open on Wednesday, July 29th and close on Sunday, August 23rd at 11:59pm.
No early bird or late registration will be allowed for this Fall.
Registration will be based on first come, first serve, and each Age Group and will have a cap.
Locations, times, and days are to-be-determined until we understand how many people register.
The Fall 2020 In-Town fee will be $80.00.
We are going to be very flexible with uniforms this season due to the limited time. More information on this will be to follow, but please do not go on our store and purchase a uniform at this time.
No refunds will be issued, fees for the Fall 2020 season may be credited towards the following Spring 2021 season.
The HYS Board has been working hard to find the best way to accommodate as many soccer players as possible. We are doing our best to work within the parameters we are given. Everything is subject to change based on the guidelines set up by the state, and passed down to our organization through MA Youth Soccer and U.S. Soccer. We thank you all for your patience and understanding as we move forward.
