Travel Assessment Information UPDATED!

Just a reminder that player assessments will take place this Tuesday (6/7) (G6 Boys and Girls) and Thursday (6/9) (G8 Boys and Girls) at Bradford Elementary School (118 Montvale Street). The Travel Director (TD) will be providing an update about the assessment process, the upcoming season, and answer any questions you may have. Please have at least 1 parent and/or guardian attend the TD's updates.
Registered and Waitlisted players need to attend player assessments. For any girls on the waitlist for G6 and G8, we are hoping we can get the minimum number required to form 2 teams by the time we need to submit our rosters to ECYSA.
All players need to wear shin guards, bring a soccer ball, and water. Players do not need to wear any uniforms. We will supply pinnies for the players as needed.
Current registration numbers by age group and gender (as of 6/6):
G6 Boys - 16 registered (10 on waitlist)
G6 Girls - 16 registered (1 on waitlist) - Need 7 more to register to get all kids off the waitlist and onto a team
*G8 Boys - 36 registered (10 on waitlist)
*G8 Girls - 20 registered (5 on waitlist) - Need 5 more to register to get all kids off the waitlist and onto a team
G6 is for boys and girls going into 5th or 6th grade next Fall.
G8 is for boys and girls going into 7th or 8th grade next Fall.
* Starting Fall 2022, HYS will no longer offer Intown soccer for our 7th and 8th grade players. Travel will be the only option for 7th and 8th grade players going forward.
As of right now, the plan is to have the following number of teams per age group and gender:
G6 Boys - 2 teams
G6 Girls - 1 team (maybe 2 teams if we can get 8+ players on the waitlist)
G8 Boys - 3 teams
G8 Girls - 1 team (maybe 2 teams if we can get 10+ players on the waitlist)
HYS needs to submit our teams to the league by late June/early July. HYS, along with your assistance, can help get more players registered for the age groups and genders that need a few more players to get all the kids off the waitlists. HYS needs your help with spreading the word!
Player Assessments
Registered and Waitlisted players need to attend player assessments.
We will be holding player assessments at Bradford Elementary School, 118 Montvale Street on the following days/times:
G6 Boys - Tuesday, June 7th at Bradford Elementary (5:45pm for check-in, Player Assessments from 6-6:45)
G6 Girls - Tuesday, June 7th at Bradford Elementary (6:45pm for check-in, Player Assessments from 7-7:45)
G8 Boys - Thursday, June 9th at Bradford Elementary (5:45pm for check-in, Player Assessments from 6-6:45)
G8 Girls - Thursday, June 9th at Bradford Elementary (6:45pm for check-in, Player Assessments from 7-7:45)

Attendance for player assessments is mandatory. Missing assessments could result in your player(s) being placed on a lower technically skilled team or not being placed on a Travel team at all.

Why are there player assessments?
We use player assessments for 2 reasons:
1. We need to gauge where we think each team should be placed in ECYSA based on overall team skill level.
2. For age groups and genders where we have enough players to form more than 1 team, we need to try to make sure each team is composed of players of similar abilities.
